KIDS AT THE HUNT LIBRARY
The children’s section at the David M. Hunt Library holds more than 6,500 books, 250 movies and 60 audio books for children ages birth to 13. New items are added to the collection every month. With toys, games and puzzles for all ages the children’s room is a great place to visit.
You can join Rita for virtual story time anytime on Rita’s YouTube channel.
We promote early literacy with our twice weekly Story Time programs. Children’s librarian Rita Delgado runs an interactive story time for children ages birth to five on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30 am which includes stories and songs. Currently this programs takes place outside on the library lawn. Participants are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to sit on and a snack.
Children ages 5 and up may sign up for the Hunt’s popular summer reading program. Kids receive points for every twenty minutes they read and can redeem their points for prizes. During the months of July and August the Hunt offers numerous programs for kids of all ages, ranging from 4-H programs to music to bread making to fields trips to Great Mountain Forest. Details of summer programming can be found on our calendar or by following the link below. Sign up for programs at the library, by phone (860) 824-7424 or by emailing Rita firstname.lastname@example.org

This summer we’re offering access to Page Turner Adventures, children’s entertainment for the virtual (and real) world that captures young minds and hearts (in a fun way, not a zombie overlord way). Join Storyologists, Page Turner and Kenny as they jump into the Once Upon a Time Machine in search of stories and adventure. Along the way, you’ll participate in awesome shows, create fun crafts, make delicious recipes, and meet some amazing guests. It’s going to be a WILD SUMMER filled with lots of laughs, wonder, imagination, creativity, and, of course, .BOOKS. Because… WHEN YOU READ, EVERY DAY IS AN ADVENTURE!
