Wild Weaving
Wild Weaving
On Saturday, September 9th at 10:30 am the David M. Hunt Library will offer the program "Wild Weaving", a program for children with Jean Bronson. Participants will learn to weave on a maple branch frame with yarn, flowers, leaves, grasses and other natural materials. This program is suitable for all ages; those under age 5 should be accompanied by an adult who can help them. Limit 12 children.

“Rosie the Riveter” with the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History
On Tuesday, September 12th at 4 pm the David M. Hunt Library will host a presentation on “Rosie the Riveter” in partnership with the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History. " Rosie the Riveter" became an iconic symbol of working women during World War II. What was it really like for them? We’ll look at propaganda posters, art, music, photos, and hear real-life accounts of Connecticut women who worked for victory in the war. This event is free and open to the public.

Bend and Stretch
Bend and Stretch
Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Litchfield County will host a Bend and Stretch class at the library for six Wednesdays from September 20th to October 25th from 10 am to 11 pm. All ages are welcome to participate. Through this 6 week program, you receive the benefits of regular exercise including improved balance, increased core strength, oxygenation, and lymph circulation. Participants also notice an improved sense of overall well-being as a result of the fun and social interaction during the classes.

Walking the West Highland Way
On Friday, September 22nd at 3:30 pm the David M. Hunt Library will host a presentation by local resident Jenny Law about her recent walk of the 96 mile West Highland Way in Scotland. Photos of her journey will accompany the presentation. This program is free and open to the public.

Cocktails with Bunny Williams and John Rosselli
Join Bunny Williams and John Rosselli on Saturday, September 23rd from 4:00-6:00 pm for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at their beloved property in Falls Village. On 15 extensively planted acres, the grounds feature a sunken garden, a seasonally changing parterre garden, a year-round conservatory filled with tropical plants, a large vegetable garden with flowers and herbs, a woodland garden with meandering paths and their most recent addition, Birdhouse Village—along with their restored barn and Bunny's studio. This intimate reception will allow you a firsthand look at the magic Bunny and John have created in Falls Village and will support the David M. Hunt Library.
