
Summer Reading Kickoff – Ice Cream Party and Mark Rust Performance

The David M. Hunt Library kicks off its summer reading on Friday, June 30th at 3 pm with an ice cream party followed by a musical performance by Mark Rust. Children ages 5 and older are welcome to participate in the Hunt’s summer reading program, in which minutes read are turned into stamps that are used to earn an assortment of fun prizes. The ice cream party begins at 3 pm, followed by the performance at 3:45 pm. Mark Rust’s show features fun sing alongs on a variety of instruments including guitar, banjo, fiddle, and hammered dulcimer. Participants will learn to play the spoons, and be invited to try a couple fun family dances. Summer reading sign ups and programs for kids of all ages will continue through July and August.
