Discussing James Joyce’s “The Dead” with Dathalinn O’Dea
March 23 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
On Thursday March 23 at 5 pm, the David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village will host a discussion of the James Joyce short story “The Dead” with Marist college professor Dathalinn O’Dea. The final story in The Dubliners, “The Dead” explores the themes of love and loss as well as the nature of Irish identity. Copies of the book will be available at the library two weeks prior to the program. Dathalinn O’Dea received her PhD in English from Boston College with a focus on modern Irish literature. In 2018, shortly before joining Marist, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at University College Dublin’s School of English, Drama & Film.
