On Tuesday July 18th at 5 pm, the David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village will host a discussion of the Claire Keegan novella “Foster” with Dathalinn O’Dea. Keegan, a contemporary Irish author, won the 2009 Davy Byrne’s Irish Writing Award for “Foster,” and the book was recently adapted into the Oscar-nominated film The Quiet Girl (An Cailín Ciúin). Copies of the book will be available at the library two weeks prior to the program. O’Dea is a Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Marist College with a specialty in modern Irish literature.
