On Saturday February 24th at 1 pm Master Wildlife Conservationist Ginny Apple will present Coyotes in Connecticut. Ginny Apple will talk about the state’s coyote population and cover coyote essentials from behavior, habitat, and reproduction to advice on how humans and coyotes can exist together without conflict. Often described as opportunistic animals with regards to habitat and diet, the coyote is also known as the “trickster” in Native American folklore and legends. Master Conservationist Ginny Apple is a resident of Barkhamsted and is a Master Wildlife Conservationist with the State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Her house is within Peoples State Forest where she observes a large population of Black Bears, supplying field notes and photographs of them to DEEP biologists.
