On Saturday, June 1 at 1PM the David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village will host East Hampton author Martin “Marty” Podskoch who will talk about and sign copies of his book, Connecticut 169 Club, Passport & Guide To Exploring Connecticut. The goal is to get people to explore all of Connecticut’s 169 towns and cities by way of the state’s back roads instead of the interstate highway. The book uncovers cool curiosities and introduces the reader to interesting fellow Connecticut residents while challenging the reader to get their book stamped at all 169 stops. Those who do will receive a “Leatherman” patch commemorating the legendary vagabond who wore leather clothes and traveled a 365-mile circuit between the Hudson and Connecticut Rivers, camping out in caves in 34 days in the late 1800s. The author intends that whole families, including grandparents, can enjoy the adventure that can be found exploring the Nutmeg State. “Let’s all take the road less traveled.” Podskoch’s guidebook will be available for signing and purchase and can be stamped for the first time marking the traveler’s visit to Falls Village. This event is free and open to the public. The author’s website is at martinpodskoch.com.
