The David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village will host an online presentation about Connecticut’s beaver population with DEEP Master Wildlife Conservationist Ginny Apple, on Saturday April 17 at 2PM. Join Ginny for a talk and slide show presentation about this keystone species, their biology, behavior, and history. Learn about their unique role as nature’s engineers in shaping North American landscapes and find out why beavers are called “eager,” and how Beaver ponds and wetlands can help us fight environmental problems from water pollution to erosion and climate change.
Ginny Apple is a resident of Barkhamsted and is a Master Wildlife Conservationist with the State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Her house is within Peoples State Forest where she observes a large population of Black Bears, supplying field notes and photographs of them to DEEP biologists.
