AFS Hosting Info Session
August 1 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
On Tuesday, August 1st at 5 pm the David M. Hunt Library, in partnership with the Falls Village Chapter of AFS, will host an informational session for families exploring the idea of hosting an international student. The local AFS chapterĀ is the longest standing chapter in the US, and has been active since they welcomed their first exchange students from Germany in the 1950-1951 school year, 72 years ago. Join Andrea Downs, Vance Cannon and Beckie Seney, local chapter members who have hosted students themselves, to hear about their experience and ask questions. It is not necessary for the family to have a current high school student at the time of hosting, families may have younger children at home, or no children at all. AFS is hoping to place two international students in Region One this year.
