“TANGLED FOOD WEBS!”

Do you know where YOUR food comes from? This week we will be exploring how food travels from the soil where it is grown to your dinner table! Does your food travel miles and miles? Is “going local” better for your plate and the world? Attend this program and find out!
Suggested ages 7-12

4-H Program – “BUGS TO THE RESCUE”

Do you have a favorite superhero? The crops in a farmer’s field do too, except they are smaller and don’t wear capes! In this program we will learn about the heroes and villains of the insect world, and how we interact with them, along with the plants we depend on for food and other important things!
Suggested ages 7-12yrs. Group limited to 10 so sign up soon!!

4-H Program -”AMAZING AGRICULTURE”

Agriculture just gives us food, right?….Actually agriculture is with you every day from the cars we drive to the medicines we take, and it’s even at your school too! This week we’ll focus on discovering new ways that agriculture impacts our lives in amazing ways!

 

July 20th – Thursday – 3pm-4:30pm
RECYCLE-ART with Joe Brien

Learn how to fashion creative, useful projects from recycled plastic containers. Explore cutting, folding, forming and fastening different kinds of plastic so you can create your own sculptures and inventions. Best for kids 8 and older. Younger builders must be accompanied by an adult please.

 

 

July 25th – Tuesday – 3:45pm-4:45pm
4-H Program – “RUMINATION NATION”

It’s the craze sweeping the nation….or at least the barnyard…rumination! This week we will discover what makes cows, sheep, goats and many more species so special when it comes to the food they eat and the nutrients they get from it!

STEM CHALLENGE

Learn everything you need to know to become a bread baker.
You’ll sample the finished product and take home your own dough to bake off.

“IT’S A JUNGLE OUT THERE!”

Jean Mai’s Science Snoopers programs are much sought after, and we are fortunate have her back this summer!
This summer we will learn out all about the Rainforest, and how it helps us. Take home a monkey you will create in this workshop!

Field Trip to Great Mountain Forest based on the book
Trout are Made of Trees

Story Hour and Story Time friends go on yet another field trip.
This trip will include a hike to the stream, and a watercolor art project.

This workshop by Jenny Schwartz of the Berkshire Co-op
is designed for slightly older chefs with slightly more advanced skills…ages 8+ please. This year’s culinary creation…
Vegetable Tempura made with veggies from our summer harvest.

CREATE A “RUBBER BAND RACER” with Joe Brien

Build rubber band-powered race care to take home! Learn about woodworking and engineering! Experiment! Race! Have Fun!
Best for kids 8 and older, accompanied by a parent.

CALLING ALL SMALL FRY CHEFS!

Returning for her 3rd summer, Jenny Schwartz of the Berkshire Co-op
is back!! She’ll be making one of her yummy creations with our younger set of chefs….ages 3-6 please. This year the children will be making
Veggie Dumplings!
